Demonstration Gardens

Our Chapter maintains two public demonstration gardens which offer hands-on learning for members. You are invited to tour our gardens for free, from dawn to dusk, to view the plants and observe their growth throughout the seasons.

Master Gardener Demonstration Gardens at the Springfield Botanical Gardens are located at 2400 Scenic Ave., Springfield, Mo. 65807. Just north of the Botanical Center building and parking lot, the beds include mixed border, herbs, vegetables, turf, ornamental grasses, and Missouri natives.

WaterWise Garden is located at the corner of National Avenue and Linwood Street in Springfield, Missouri. Just south of the Springfield Art Museum, the garden focuses on water wise gardening and includes a Monarch Butterfly Waystation.

Master Gardeners of Greene County volunteer thousands of hours each year toward maintaining these two demonstration gardens in Springfield. Neither of the gardens would be possible without the excellent participation and support we receive from the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri.
